Alexandra Anna Daddario was born on March 16, 1986 in New York City, New York to her parents Christina and Richard Daddario. She is of Irish, Italian, English, and Slovakian ancestry. She has two younger siblings, Matthew and Catherine, who are also actors. Her grandfather, Emilio Q. Daddario, was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives for the state of Connecticut from 1950-1971. Alexandra was raised on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, attending Brearley School before transferring to the Professional Children’s School when she was sixteen. She decided she wanted to become an actress when she was eleven years old, stating she “always loved storytelling.” Alexandra attended Marymount Manhattan College before dropping out to pursue acting full-time.

In 2002, she made her professional acting debut as Laurie Lewis on the television soap “All My Children”, which spanned a total of 43 episodes from 2002-2003. She also played Samantha Beresford in an episode of the long-running television show “Law & Order” in 2004. Alexandra was cast as Pretty Girl in the 2005 film The Squid and the Whale, a movie following two young boys dealing with their parent’s divorce in Brooklyn in the 1980s. The next year, she was a part of the pilot episode of the television show “Conviction” as Vanessa before playing the part of Another Woman on the hit show “The Sopranos”. Also in 2006, Alexandra played the role of Kim in the film The Hottest State, written and directed by Ethan Hawke, before returning to “Law & Order”, this time portraying the role of Felicia. She also was a part of the television movie Damages, about lawyers struggling to balance their personal and professional lives, playing Lily Arsenault.

In 2007, Alexandra portrayed the role of Barbara Yates in the film The Babysitters, a film about a teenager turning her babysitting service into a call-girl service for married men. She would next play Ava Strauss in the straight-to-video thriller The Attic before reprising her role of Lily Arsenault in the season two premiere of “Damages”. She would continue to appear on television shows such as “Life on Mars” as Emily ‘Rocket Girl’ Wyatt and “Nurse Jackie” as Young Woman in the pilot episode before booking her recurring role on the USA Network television show “White Collar” as Kate. Alexandra’s role as Annabeth Chase in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief in 2010 would be considered her breakout role, also starring Logan Lerman and Pierce Brosnan. The film grossed over $226 million at the box office worldwide. She would also play Allison Miller in the thriller Bereavement, a film revolving around 6-year-old Martin Bristol who’s abducted from his backyard and forced to witness brutal crimes.

In 2011, she would act alongside Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis as Paige in the romantic comedy Hall Pass. The same year, Alexandra joined the series “Parenthood” as Rachel for five episodes in its third season. She appeared on the FX television show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” as Ruby Taft before starring in the Imagine Dragons’ music video for “Radioactive” in 2012. Alexandra starred alongside Trey Songz and Scott Eastwood in the 2013 thriller Texas Chainsaw [3D] as Heather Miller; followed by the Percy Jackson sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, in which she would reprise her role as Annabeth. The next year, she appeared on the television shows “Married” as Ella the Waitress, in its pilot episode, and “New Girl”, playing Michelle. She also played Lisa Tragnetti in the first season of “True Detective”, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Alexandra starred alongside Anton Yelchin and Ashley Greene in the romantic comedy horror film Burying the Ex in 2014 as Olivia, which was chosen to participate at the Venice Film Festival, but it wasn’t competing. She began 2015 appearing as Victoria on the television show “The Last Man on Earth”, then lent her voice for the character Dune Alpert for the Battlefield Hardline video game. Alexandra’s next film would be the action adventure film San Andreas, playing Blake Gaines, the daughter of Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugiono’s characters. The film grossed almost $474 million worldwide at the box office. She would lastly join the series American Horror Story in 2015 for a few episodes as designer Natacha Rambova.

In 2016, Alexandra appeared in an episode of “Workaholics”, playing Donna before voicing the character Janet Van Dyne aka The Wasp in the Marvel Avengers Academy video game, as well as the roles of Theresa Johnson and Lena in an episode of “Robot Chicken”. She portrayed the role of Monica in the Nicholas Sparks film The Choice, starring Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer, that year as well. Next would come the crime comedy Baked in Brooklyn, starring alongside Josh Brener. The film revolves around a guy who decides to sell weed after losing his job. Alexandra re-joined Dwayne Johnson for the updated film version of Baywatch, based on the popular television show, where she played Summer Quinn, in 2017. The House was released next, where she played the role of Corsica, where the film starred Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler; followed by playing Kate in The Layover alongside Kate Upton and Matt Barr.

In 2018, Alexandra appeared in the Maroon 5 music video for the song “Wait,” then played Avery in the Netflix romantic comedy When We First Met, also starring Adam Devine and Robbie Amell. She would also star in the thriller We Have Always Lived in the Castle, as Constance Blackwood. Later that year, she would star alongside Henry Cavill and Ben Kingsley in the crime drama Night Hunter as Rachel. The film revolves around a recently arrested, troubled man who’s been linked to years of female abductions and murders. She began 2019 playing Alexis in We Summon the Darkness, the film is about three best friends going on a road trip to a heavy metal show, bond with aspiring musicians and head to one of the girls’ country homes for an after party. Next, she appeared in the film Lost Transmissions, starring Simon Pegg and Juno Temple, playing pop star Dana Lee. Alexandra starred alongside Tyler Hoechlin in the romantic comedy Can You Keep a Secret? as Emma Corrigan, then played the role of Jade in all ten episodes of the television show “Why Women Kill”.

When 2020 began, Alexandra had finished voicing Lois Lane for Superman: Man of Tomorrow, as well as the thriller Lost Girls and Love Hotels, playing Margaret. The film was expected to be released on September 4th, but may get pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. Her films Die in a Gunfight and 1 Night in San Diego are both currently in post-production. The film Happy Life, also starring Evangeline Lilly, is currently in the pre-production process and a sequel to the 2015 blockbuster San Andreas was announced in 2018.
